HCI

PC – The PC has always used the keyboard and mouse for games. The joystick, which is like a huge analogue stick that you would hold with one hand, was made for gaming on a PC to improve movement. Over the recent years, gamepads could be used to play certain games on a PC.

PlayStation 3&4 – The gamepad has a built in six-axis, which is basically a motion controller, and its own touchscreen. The PlayStation move was a remote that allowed players to play dance games, it was also a rip-off of the Wii mote except it didn’t work as well. The PlayStation eye is a camera, sold separately, that allows players to interact with the game through motion, colour and sound detection.

Xbox 360&ONE – The gamepad now has everything the 360 controller had as well as new impact triggers. The kinect and kinect 2.0 both don’t work, they were designed to let players use their entire body as a controller.

Wii U – The gamepad has a touchscreen that lets players interact with other elements in the game and can act as a second game screen so you don’t have to be in the same room to play the game. It could also be used as a motion controller in certain games. The Wii mote plus, an improved version of the Wii mote, does exactly what the original Wii mite did but better than its predecessor. The nunchuk was basically a second half of the Wii mote, seeing as it needed to be plugged into it, with an analogue stick and two extra buttons.
